NEW INFORMATION ABOUT THE CALIFORNIA ASSESSMENT FOR STUDENT PERFORMANCE
Woodland Joint Unified School District received new information regarding the California Assessment for Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP also referred to as SBAC). The State test will generate a Student Progress Report for families this school year, and will be mailed home during the summer. As we continue the transition, our flexibility and continued communication of the process will be incredibly important to provide information and reduce the anxiety level for our students, teachers, families, and community members.
The new California test (CAASPP also referred as SBAC) is completely different from the CST of the past.
Again, we cannot stress enough that if you should see that your student is below grade level, it is based upon the new “baseline data/score” and therefore you will see growth in the following years as we continue to adjust learning that includes more critical thinking in all subject areas to support the English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science tests.
In addition, we will be hosting workshops for families about the new assessments:
We appreciate your understanding, trust, and more importantly flexibility, as we continue to transition as a nation, as a state and as a district, to ensure that our students are College and Career Ready when they graduate with the skills necessary for future success!
